Why lenses go here faster than inland

Little River sits right on the water, which means salt in the air on top of full sun. That combination is harder on a polycarbonate lens than either one alone.

A lot of vehicles here live outside permanently — boat trucks at the marinas, second cars at the waterfront places, work trucks that never see a garage. Continuous UV exposure is what kills the factory coating, and shade is the only thing that slows it down.

Around here I start seeing haze at three to five years. Inland and garage-kept, the same car might go eight.

Bigger trucks and SUVs, four-headlight setups, and lenses far enough gone to need extra sanding stages run more — I'll tell you the number before I start, not after.
