Headlight restoration in Calabash

North Carolina checks your headlights every year

North Carolina requires an annual safety inspection for most vehicles, and headlights are on the list of items a licensed mechanic checks, along with accessory lights, directional signals, brakes, steering and tires. Miss the inspection and your registration gets blocked.

That inspection is about whether the lights work, not about how clear the lens is — I'm not going to tell you a hazed lens automatically fails. But it's a yearly reminder that South Carolina drivers fifteen minutes away never get, and it's a sensible time to deal with lenses you've been ignoring.

The coastal conditions here are the same as Little River's: salt air, heavy sun, and a lot of vehicles that park outside year round.
